The greatest aesthetic experience of my life was seeing Rudolf Nureyev and Dame Margot Fountain dance Giselle. Adam's music is superbly adapted to drama, and Nureyev had shaped the choreography in ways that seem to had remained.
Another ballet that I would recommend as exquisite is on film. Nureyev in his prime choreographed Don Quixote with the music of Minkus. The story is all jerked around, but the ballet is beautiful.

I have not heard of Giselle or of Manon
sleeping beauty, it has the best story
