Call him a dancer. There is an old term, "danseur noble," and they are sometimes referred to as "cavaliers" (from the French word for "knight," "chevalier"), though that is usually only in context of the partner of the ballerina in some of the great classical ballets (particularly Nutcracker). I'm not sure how correct using that word is, and it's certainly not a general term for all male ballet dancers. There is the word "ballerino," but I've never heard ballet professionals use it--perhaps it is used in Italian.

Regarding all the people who think male ballet dancers are gay, boy are they wrong! (Believe me, I know from personal experience.) Many boys and men get interested in dancing because of the opportunity to work with and handle "gorgeous girls in tight clothes," as my bro-in-law put it. Generally, the percentage of gay men in ballet tends to be higher than in general society, but there are still more straight than gay men. (That can vary a lot from company to company, but overall, I find it true.)

Ballet can be an excellent career for men, much more than for women (less competition, more opportunity, often more money), but it is very hard work.

Some one that the women drag in to give the spectacle the guise of being universal. Ballet is not an art form it is a crippler of young women. Having the men there disguises the fact that dance is mostly about woman self-promoting their bodies, and glorifying themselves. Think about it: a violinist can evoke an emotion with a pulse as small as a hemi semi demi quaver even the most gifted dancer can't express that.
