It's a Midsummer Night's Dream - Wang Theater in Boston.
What should I wear to the ballet?paramount theater
Ballet has traditionally been a semi-formal event. The ladies will wear dresses and long gowns. You'll need a good suit, coordinating dress shirt and maybe a tie. The tie is optional. Wear clean dress shoes and make sure your coat/jacket is fairly formal as well.
What should I wear to the ballet?theatre opera theater
A two piece suit with a fashionable shirt and tie, shoes to match, get your hair cut and styled, buy new cologne, hitch a cute babe and off to the theater. You will be in your own Midsummer Nights Dream
You should dress nice. Even if you don't want to wear a suit, you should at least wear a nice pair of dress pants and a nice dress shirt with a tie.
Wear clothing that if you got to meet the performers, you wouldn't be embarassed by your appearance (nor would the people you are with be embarassed by it). I always wear a suit to the opera.
please whatever you wear dont go casual or wearing jeans i say this only for your own good
something nice i don't mean a tux, but i just wen to see the Nutcracker in San Francisco and men where in nice slacks dress shoes and a nice top women where wearing any thing from slightly fancy dresses to simple evening gowns. black is always good. have fun !
men should wear a suit and tie and women should be semiformal dressy.
what a good question...i even thought of ringing the theatre to ask!! when i go...i am going to wear smart-ish trousers..nice top underneath and a tailored jacket...thats as posh as i want to be!! - i hate dressing up too much - feel uncomfortable..so i hope what i wear will be ok..and i hope you have a wonderful time at the ballet...its so graceful and beautiful!
Nice clothes not casual but nice. Like a tie , suit if you want to too. or black pants and a black button up shirt.
Wear the best you have that you feel comfortable wearing. Anything from nice slacks and shirt to a suit. It is my opinion that it is your choice.
Jeans and Tshirt - No
But I feel that regardless of your "social standing" if you want to go (obviously you have the opportunity and are choosing to go) then anyone else there should just be glad that there are more people enjoying the arts.
Dressing up can be loads of fun, but be comfortable with yourself.
There is no specific dress code for ballet performances. Some patrons prefer to dress in business attire while others prefer casual clothing. Formal attire is not generally worn.
I have no clue! Maybe a tux??? That might be nice..........
According to the websites of the Pennsylvania Ballet and the New York Ballet, neither dance company has a dress code. What is suggested is business attire. I believe the ballet companies want to encourage patronage and say to wear comfortable clothes. However, on Fodor's website, a traveler was advised to wear business attire and to forgo casuaI.
I recommend a suit, white shirt and tie, and polished leather shoes. Be sure to get a haircut.
What I have learned concerning dress is that it conveys a person's level respect one has for the performing art.
There is no hardfast dress code when you go out. In the past people used to dress up to go to the theatre, ballet and Broadway. Then our culture went "street" and people just started dressing like they were hanging out on a Saturday. Personally, I'm starting to dress up again. I'm tired of not having any style and class. So, go wild and wear something crazy!
A Sexy Tux!
Lucky you!
Ballet is wonderful!
Wear something formal (tie, nice shoes...)
You'll feel better with a nice suit instead of sandals!
Bye!
I think you should wear a suit of some kind, send a good message, I'm here notice me for my looks and my classy style!
Wear something nice like a suit, but you don't have to wear a tie. You can wear something formal/casual.
Either semi-formal, or get in the spirit of the Elizabethan period with hippie-type garb, and do your hair with a flower...
Where whatever you feel like wearing...
No im kiddin wear what ever suits u..
What do you have to wear to the ballet.
wear something kinda formal and kinda casual...like a sweater and nice pants...whatever you choose to wear, make sure it's comfy because ballets are long and boring most of the time...
Probably comfortable clothes that someone would wear to ballet!
A tutu, you'd look just dandy in it.
Don't Wear Any Thing, maybe its better for you and us to watch some one dancing without cloth
Wear something that will allow freedom of movement...something that will won't bind as you are performing a pas de deux, etc.
Ohh without a doubt you have to wear a Tutu and ballet shoes. Make sure your hair is pulled back tightly and in a bun. You can of course use a silver tiara to enhance the crown of your head.
Don't forget to tie the ribbons on the shoes tightly so thy dont slip of during the pirouttes.
Hope to see you there give me a wave i will be in the front row taking the pictures
