Stage (ballet) Makeup?

Nutcracker is coming in about 3 weeks for me. What do I do as far as stage makeup? At the last performance, I wasn't really shure what to do. How much darker and exagerated is it than everyday makeup? I have tan(Mexican) skin

FACE

In general you put on a foundation slightly darker than your naturaln skin tone because next you put on loose powder that creates a lighter tone bringing you back to your regular shade. The point of it is to stop light from a)washing you out and b) stop the light from reflecting off your face.

However, foundation can look slightly oily at times.

LIPS

Put on a colour that looks best on you already. Then top it off with a gloss that isn't sparkly. This just keeps you lips moist so they don't get sticky and it helps prevent lipstick from getting on your teeth. =)

Blush. Grin super hard bearing your teeth then put the blush only on the apples of the cheeks then "drag" it out to the hairline. This brings out you cheek bones! My friend(not the one that helped me write this) had difficulty with this only because she put too much on so be careful not to over do it. (unless you are a ballerina or something of that sort. Ballerinas have slightly pink cheeks NOT red.) Make sure that you chose the colours that look best. Start with a pink but if it NEEDS to be brighter than add red...CAREFULLY!!! If you put on too much you might have to start over...(a total pain)

EYES

Eyeliner is suposed to go on first. You put it on from the center of your top lid then go out about a centimeter from the corner. (curving up wards to create the look of an eyelash).

Eyeshadow goes second. You usually put white eyeshadow from right under your brow to the crease of your eyelid. Since you are darker that means I would suggest a pale brown. Like a mink colour. At the crease put a dark brown. (this is to highlight your eye more.) Then over the eye (finally) put a brown that is in between the other two colours. Last but not least you apply the mascara.

Play make up is fairly easy to do once you have experience with it.

Good luck!

Talk to the directer.
awhole lot more exagerated! what i did was just used my every day make up just more of it
Put on mascara, eyeshadow [maybe purples, browns, blues, golds], talk to the director about what shade of lipstick but DEFFINETLY wear some. dont put foundation on. On stage you'll sweat %26amp; it'll come off. also put on blush. %26amp; stay away from glitter. it makes u look like ur sweating on stage. im a dancer too. =]
overexaggerate your makeup!

this means:

red lips

lots and lots of blush

falsh eyelashes with thick liquid eyeliner

tons of sparkles

flashy eyeshadow colors, but still looking normal with your outfit. (example, you're costume is white and red, and you chose green eyeshadow. BIG no no!)

pretty much, you'll feel like a drag queen. but trust me, this will look normal if youre sitting in the audience!

good luck!
