In ballet...??

What is that thing that you make your feet opposite each other against the other and using your knees go up and down???

What muscles does it work?

How do you do it properly?

Thank you, it's been bugging me.

In ballet...??soap opera

It is called a Plie (pronounced plee-ay). It works thighs especially the inner thighs and the butt. It is like a squat but instead of sitting back like you are going to sit in a chair, you bend just your knees and move the body down with the back straight. With your feet together it is a plie in first position, with your feet pointed out with about a foot length between them it is in second position. There are other feet positions also but those are the easiest.

In ballet...??city opera opera theater

Sounds like a pli茅 to me.

fifth position plie (plee-ay)

thigh/calf muscles

take one of your feet, press your heel against the other foot's big toe, point your feet outward, bend your knees (in a squatting position) - the lower you go, thn lift your heels off the floor

you're welcome.
it's called a plie and should work your thighs and legs. you put your feet in 5th position...where you put your right foot turned OUT so your toes are facing your right hand and your left foot BEHIND the right foot turned OUT facing your left hand. if will feel kinda funky until you get used to it. you bend your knees, keeping the position i told you, and bend your knees OUT not forward. keep your feet turned OUT!!! hope this helps :]
Raising up is called a releve usually written with an accent over the last "e" (pronounced relavay) it works your calf muscles this is why dancer's have such strong calves. It is done by first putting your feet in first, second, fourth or fifth position (here are photos of the different positions www.britannica.com/eb/art-88149) than raising your heels off the floor using your calf muscles in one smooth movement. Often you also go up on your toes. Than going down is called a plie usually with an accent over the last "e" ( pronounced plee-ay) this is when you bend your knees and keep your feet flat again in first, second, fourth or fifth position. This works your upper thighs and hips. Hope I helped!
You are probably referring to a move called a pleay. Your heals are touching but your feet are in a straight line (toes away from each other). Then you bend your knees. It works out your calves, but and inner thigh a little bit.
I do not think about what muscles do it work thing. I just feel dancing is enjoy thing! Cool!!
a plie in first if your heels are touching...a plie in 5th if your toes are touching your heel... a plie in 2nd if your feet are shoulder width apart...a plie in 3rd if your heel is touching the arch of your foot and a plie in 4th if your front foot is about a foot and a half away from the foot in the back but in the same position as 5th as opposed to 2nd...it works your quadriceps most of all...you have to tuck your rear in so that it doesnt stick out and if your doing a grande you cant sit you have to hold your body about an inch or 2 off of your heels with your rear tucked in...if your doing a demi you just bend your knees slightly
its called a plie and it works your thighs. you do it properly but slowly going down and making sure that your knees stay behind your ankles!!! geesh! are you in dance class? because is you are its a sad thing that you don't know what a plie is!! your in resource!
first position plie. well done properly legs, abs obliques. stand tall with your feet side by side. pretend your big toes had a fight and they try to get away from each other, but your heels are still friends. keep you back strait, gently dip you body and bend your knees slightly, come back up,.
