is it much like watching a dixieland jazz band.... too archaic to communicate anything relevant?
Is ballet a dead art form?dream theater
I think all art forms become stale when being expressed in the same way again and again. It can feel new and alive if its reborn with each visitation. The "form" may be standard but the interpretation doesn't have to be.
Is ballet a dead art form?performing arts opera theaterBallet is a living art that is constantly reborn. Check out Matthew Bourne's "The Car Man" and "Swan Lake" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v... Report It
I think it depends on the dancer who is performing it. It can be an amazing form of art that can really capture a person. It is not necessarily the ability of the dancer, it is there heart that can make it beautiful and alive.
I sincerely hope NOT! I love the ballet...LOve. If this the case we are in trouble. I listen to hip hop music and cross over jazz and have danced all my life, so I have a varied palate, and suspect I am not the only one. Ballet is not dead my friend.
of course not. it depends on how you interpret ballet. if you're the kind of person who doesn't appreciate this kind of art form then it probably is a "dead art form" for you.
Nope. My daughter is 9 and she's been in it for over 4 years now. She loves it. There are "tons" of dance schools out here, and all of them have a large "ballet" section. As far as watching it, it's an aquired taste, but certainly not dead. Just check out the theater scene in Chicago anytime. Ballet, always.... ;)
I have never seen a ballet and would like to. I hope that it is still a well-received art form when the time comes that I have a chance to attend a ballet performance.
For that matter, I would like to see a good dixieland jazz band too! :)
All of the performing arts are awesome to witness. I appreciate the creativity, skill and discipline required to perform any of them.
No and if you really have listened to a dixieland jazz band music you would hear the irrelevency of your question.
